The recording industry has changed the new release date from Tuesdays in the United States and Monday's in the United Kingdom to a world release day of Friday. The decision was made earlier this year and went into affect this month. Here's the story from Billboard, Industry Sets Friday as Global Record Release Day.
With that in mind, here's some highlights from last week's releases.
Kasey Chambers - Bittersweet
A consistently good singer/songwriter who's categorized as country but that seems unfair.

Warren Haynes - Ashes & Dust
The member of Gov't Mule and The Allman Brothers puts out a solo album backed by jam band Railroad Earth with excellent results.

Watkins Family Hour
This americana band has been performing live in Los Angeles for some time. Now they've got a debut album with some originals and wonderful covers.

Gwenno - Y Dydd Olaf
An ex-member of The Pipettes changes up that sound with synths and spacey sounds sung in her native Welsh tongue.

Eleventh Dream Day - Works For Tomorrow
These veteran indie rockers just can't seem to mellow out.

Kool Keith/L'Orange - Time? Astonishing!
Possibly the oddest rapper ever returns with another album to back that up. This time recorded in Nashville?
